在这里,每一位孩子都有机会成为 “Weekly star”,“Monthly star” “Semester star” 。学术的舞台上,他们畅游在知识的海洋,挑战数学的奥秘,探索科学的未知,书写文学的华章。他们用智慧的光芒照亮学术的殿堂,成为一颗颗闪耀的明星。艺术的殿堂里,同样精彩纷呈。 “I’m the star” “New year show” 上,琴声悠扬,歌声飘荡,精彩纷呈。风尚少年们的风采展示,更是让人眼前一亮。他们或是科创小达人,或是学习小能手,或是文艺小标兵,展现出青春的活力和无限的创意。不论是中文还是英文演讲比赛的现场,孩子们都慷慨激昂,妙语连珠。他们用流利的语言、清晰的逻辑,绘声绘色地讲述着一个个精彩的故事,抒发着内心的情感。在这里,他们不仅锻炼了自己的口才,更培养了自信和勇气。 金色童年 绘画比赛中,一幅幅充满童趣和创意的作品映入眼帘。孩子们用画笔描绘出他们对世界的理解和对美的追求。课后的艺体活动更是丰富多彩:孩子们在足球场上挥洒汗水,在舞蹈社翩翩起舞,在合唱队大展歌喉。他们在这里找到了属于自己的舞台,展现了自己的才华和魅力。

四(2)班的 Andy 对公众演讲很感兴趣。国旗下演讲、讲寓言故事比赛、云端音乐会都有他自信的身影。瞧,在温馨教室的评比活动中,他也热情地介绍了自己的班级教室,将班级里每个小巧思都娓娓道来。

四(3)班的 Isabelle 是一位热爱艺术的宝藏女孩。她在杭校的新年演出现场中表演的相声,赢得了阵阵掌声。同时,她也作为整场演出的小主持人,专业地完成了报幕工作。

四(4)班的 Pedro 是一个充满正能量,积极向上,热情开朗,勤奋好学的男孩。他关心身边事,国家事,乐于奉献,积极投身于社会实践和公益活动,作为一名光荣的上海市注册志愿者,力所能及为邻居们提供服务,坚持参加联合国儿童基金会募捐活动,在河南特大水灾中为遭受灾害的学校募捐物资贡献出了自己的一份爱心,此外还有社区新闻采访、雏鹰小队等活动也有他忙碌的身影。在 学雷锋周 ,他在国旗下的演讲道出了自己对雷锋精神的理解。

 

积微成著:让孩子觉得“我可以”

小朋友的力量是非常微弱的,这也是为什么孩子有些时候会选择逃避。自驱力的培养中第二个要素便是胜任感,胜任感的关键在于放权,让孩子认为 我可以

喜好演讲的Andy在杭校的各类演讲、主持、讲故事勇于尝试,逐渐变得自信自主,也学会了如何克服演讲过程中的紧张感。在 ESDP2023 英语演讲与辩论五项上海演讲季决赛中获得小学低年级组特等奖。

Isabelle个性开朗,喜好文艺。在文艺领域的一次次探索,让她更加坚定地追求自己地兴趣所在,她也自主加入杭校啦啦操校队,在舞台上大放光彩。

Pedro通过给自己设立小目标如:坚持每天晨读记单词或者看一篇新闻,阶段性做一些专项练习来巩固校内知识,参加趣味打卡互动来调动自己学习的积极性、提升自己的学力,从而发自内心地体会到 我可以 。他也在 2022 袋鼠杯国际数学竞赛获得了中国区金奖。

 

尊重理解:让孩子可以“我做主”

尊重和理解是和孩子建立健康关系的重要基石,它允许孩子在成长过程中拥有更多的自主权和决策权,从而培养他们的独立性和自信心。让孩子 我做主 不仅是对他们个人能力的信任,更是对他们成长过程中自我认知和自我价值的肯定。

在学业之余,Andy喜好体验各种运动:击剑、游泳、足球、篮球 …… 每一项运动都带给他快乐和满足。而 Isabelle 也从兴趣出发,积极参与校外的各项文艺活动,不论是 Adidas 的走秀 T 台上,舞台剧的演出现场,还是六一晚会朗诵的舞台上,都留下了她自信优雅的身影。

Pedro在学习之余,也对朗诵、主持、科创、棋类等感兴趣,这些爱好激发了他自主学习的能力, 2022 年他开始尝试科创方面的探究,在爸爸妈妈和老师的共同指导下,他的作品获得了区级科技创新比赛的二等奖。在不断尝试和自主决策过程中,他成为了一位更加独立自信的男孩。

Isabelle from Class 4-3  is a treasured girl who loves arts dearly. Her performance of cross-talk at the Hangzhou-Bay Bilingual School (Shanghai Jinshan)'s New Year's show won rounds of applause. At the same time, she also served as the co-host of the entire event, professionally handling the hosting duties.

 

Pedro from Class 4-4 is a boy full of positive energy, optimism, and diligence. He cares about everything around him, from local to national affairs, and is eager to contribute. Actively involved in social practices and public welfare activities, he serves as an honored registered volunteer in Shanghai, providing services to his neighbors to the best of his ability. He consistently participates in fundraising activities for the United Nations Children's Fund, contributing his love by donating materials to schools affected by the major floods in Henan Province. Additionally, he engages in community news interviews and activities with the Eaglet Scout Team. During "Learn from Lei Feng Week," his speech under the national flag eloquently expressed his understanding of Lei Feng's spirit.

The power of children is often very fragile, which is why sometimes they choose to avoid challenges. The second element in cultivating self-drive is competence, and the key to competence lies in empowerment, making children believe "I can."

 

Andy, who enjoys public speaking, bravely tries various speech, hosting, and storytelling activities at the school, gradually becoming more confident and independent. He also learns how to overcome nervousness during speeches. He received the Special Award for Primary School Junior Division in the 2023 English Speech and Debate Five-Event Shanghai Speech Season Finals (ESDP).

 

Isabelle is outgoing and enjoys the arts. Her explorations in the artistic field have strengthened her pursuit of her interests, leading her to join the cheerleading squad at the school, where she shines brightly on stage.

 

Pedro sets small goals for himself, such as sticking to daily morning reading and learning new words, or reading a news article every day, and periodically doing specialized exercises to reinforce his knowledge. He participates in fun interactive activities to motivate himself to learn and improve his academic performance, thus experiencing the feeling of "I can" from within. He also achieved the Gold Award in the China region at the 2022 Kangaroo Cup International Mathematics Competition.

In addition to his studies, Pedro is interested in recitation, hosting, scientific innovation, and chess. These hobbies have stimulated his ability to learn independently. In 2022, he began exploring scientific innovation, and with guidance from his parents and teachers, his project won the second prize in the district-level Science and Technology Innovation Competition. Through continuous experimentation and autonomous decision-making, he has become a more independent and confident young man.
