秋意渐浓，上海金山杭州湾双语学校的校园被英语演讲的热潮点燃。近日，我校小学部一至四年级全覆盖的英语演讲比赛班级选拔赛圆满落幕。这场贯穿低、中年级的语言能力大练兵，不仅为学生们提供了锻炼的舞台，更集中展现了我校在英语教学和全人教育上的丰硕成果。

本次活动并非少数尖子生的竞技，而是属于每一个孩子的展示。学校根据各年龄段学生的认知水平和语言能力，设置了分层目标与主题：

· 一、二年级的同学们以假期等贴近生活的主题为主，用稚嫩而真诚的嗓音，分享童年的快乐与发现。

· 三、四年级的同学们则挑战了更具思辨性的主题，如我的英雄等，他们逻辑清晰、表达流畅，展现了出色的语言应用能力。

从一年级的新奇雀跃到四年级的自信从容，我们清晰地看到了孩子们在杭州湾双语学校这片沃土上成长的轨迹。

“ 激发潜能，放眼世界 ” 的教育理念在此次活动中得到了生动体现。演讲比赛不仅是课堂英语教学的延伸，更是一次项目式学习。学生们经历了选题构思、文稿撰写、反复练习、最终展示的完整过程，其公开表达能力、逻辑思维能力和心理素质都得到了全方位的提升。

活动现场，每一位勇敢站上舞台的孩子都赢得了热烈的掌声。这掌声，不仅为流利的英语，更为那份敢于挑战自我、自信表达观点的勇气。

经过各班激烈的角逐，一批口语能力突出、思维敏捷、舞台风采佳的学子脱颖而出。他们不仅是班级的骄傲，也将成为学校的代表。这些优秀的学子将组成梯队，参加接下来的校级选拔，并有机会代表学校，踏上ESDP（英语演讲与辩论五项） 等全国性权威平台的复试舞台。从班级到全国，这条路，他们将走得稳健而精彩。

此次贯穿四个年级的英语演讲盛事，为校园文化生活描绘了浓墨重彩的一笔。我们深信，语言是通往世界的桥梁，而自信则是行走世界的行囊。今天，我们在杭州湾的舞台上听见了未来之声；明天，世界将听见他们的声音。

From the budding voices of first graders to the confident delivery of fourth graders, we witnessed a celebration of courage and growth.

This autumn, the campus of Hangzhou Bay Bilingual School (Shanghai Jinshan) was electrified by the energy of English public speaking. Recently, the school successfully concluded its classroom-level selection rounds for the English Speech Contest, which engaged students across all four grades of the primary section. This school-wide initiative not only provided a platform for students to practice their language skills but also showcased the school’s commitment to holistic English education and student development.

Inclusive Participation: Every Voice Matters

The contest was designed to be inclusive, encouraging every student to take part. Topics were carefully tailored to suit the cognitive and language abilities of each age group:

· Grades 1–2 focused on relatable themes such as “My Holiday”,  sharing joyful childhood memories in simple, heartfelt English.

· Grades 3–4 tackled more reflective topics like “My Hero” , demonstrating stronger logical structure and expressive fluency.

From the tentative but earnest voices of the lower grades to the polished and confident presentations of the older students, the contest vividly illustrated the students’ progressive growth within the Hangzhou Bay learning environment.

Learning Through Competing: Beyond the Classroom

The contest embodied the school’s educational philosophy of “Inspiring Potential, Broadening Horizons.” More than just a competition, it served as an extended project-based learning experience. Students went through the full process of brainstorming, drafting, rehearsing, and performing, strengthening not only their English skills but also their critical thinking, confidence, and stage presence.

Every child who stepped onto the stage received warm applause—not only for their English proficiency but for their courage to express themselves in front of an audience.

Looking Ahead: Toward Broader Horizons

After intense and inspiring classroom rounds, a number of outstanding speakers were selected from each class. These students will now advance to the school-level competition, with the opportunity to represent Hangzhou Bay Bilingual School at higher-level events such as the ESDP (English Speech and Debate Pentathlon).

From classroom to national stages, these young voices are ready to shine .

This cross-grade speech contest has left a memorable mark on our campus life. We firmly believe that language opens doors to the world, and confidence equips students to walk through them. Today, we heard the future in their voices on our stage—tomorrow, the world will hear them, too .
