They personally transformed the numerical symbols about years, months, and days from textbooks into tangible, wonderful scrolls of time.

 

From Textbooks to Life: Grounding the Abstract Concept of "Time"

This activity was closely centered on the teaching content of the "Time" unit in third-grade mathematics. How to internalize knowledge points such as "a year has 12 months" and "the pattern of days in big and small months"? Making a complete calendar became the most challenging yet rewarding practical method. Children needed to accurately calculate dates and reasonably plan the layout. This was not only the application of knowledge, but also a concrete understanding and systematic construction of the abstract concept of "time".

 

Achievement Display: Innocence and Wisdom Shine in Every Detail

Stepping into the third-grade corridor is like entering a miniature "Time Museum". Each calendar is a unique expression of what "time" looks like in a child's mind:

Some works took the "24 Solar Terms" as the theme. They used brushes to add fluttering butterflies to "Awakening of Insects" and falling snowflakes to "Heavy Snow", perfectly integrating ancient Chinese wisdom with the passage of time. Some children chose "space exploration" as their theme, designing each month as a different planet. Others focused on a "four-season garden", using watercolors to depict the changes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

 

The forms of the calendars also broke away from tradition—there were rotatable "time gears", page-turning "four-season storybooks", and three-dimensional "time cabins". These clever ideas made the act of "flipping through time" itself full of fun.
