笃行致远 惟实励新——记G8学科活动

回首过去,我们应该铭记八年级的这段时间让同学们学习上受到了不小的挑战,也是充满了故事和活动的两个月:我们制作了精美的韦达定理的海报;挑战了拍摄最能代表光的不同定律的照片;参与了最为困难和具有竞争性的ESDP校内海选;还有两次《红星照耀中国》的章节分享等。它们既富有成效又耐人寻味,现在,让我们随着文字,再次感受一下自八年级开始发生的各类丰富多彩的活动。

新闻是我们了解世界的窗口,通过记录社会、传播信息、反映时代,迅速及时地报道国内外新近发生的、有价值的事实,被称为除了司法、行政、立法之外的 隐形的第四界 。单单作为一种文体来看,它在具有时效性、真实性等独有特点的同时,其逻辑架构和形象思维也灵活地增加了文章的文学性。在语文学科的 新闻专题 中,八年级的同学们通过积极参与写作新闻通讯、新闻特写、新闻消息、新闻评论等体裁来展示自己对于新闻这一文体的了解与对社会时事的认知,广受欢迎的主题包括新近举办的亚运会以及世界范围内的各大重要事件。有的同学客观地报道了最新信息与事件,文章以时效性为核心针对性地发展;有的同学深度分析了社会现象,用严谨的笔触做出了独到的评价;有的同学截取新闻事实的横断面,生动活泼地描写了精彩的片段、场面或镜头,让读者仿佛身临其境。值得一提的是,制作出的成品为 剪报 ,许多同学浏览了大量著名报社的新闻文章,从中选取了某一主题的相关内容剪贴和排版,实在是别出心裁。新闻专题的学习让我们受益匪浅,无论以后会不会从事相关的职业,对于社会的关注、对于逻辑架构和文学水平相得益彰的探讨以及对于时事的主观认知对我们大有裨益,同学们都很期待以后还能在语文学科参与更多精彩的活动主题。

韦达定理是一个公式 ( 英语: Vieta's formulas) ,给出多项式方程的根与系数的关系,因而又被代称为根与系数。

韦达最早发现代数方程的根与系数之间有这种关系,因此,人们把这个关系称为韦达定理。韦达在16世纪就得出这个定理,证明这个定理要依靠代数基本定理,而代数基本定理却是在 1799 年才由高斯作出第一个实质性的论性。

韦达定理常用于代数领域。法国数学家弗朗索瓦 · 韦达在著作《论方程的识别与订正》中建立了方程根与系数的关系,提出了这条定理。

一元二次方程ax^2+bx+c=0 (a≠0 △=b^2-4ac>0) 中,设两个根为 x1 x2 ,则: x1+x2= -b/a x1·x2=c/a

逆定理:如果两数 α β 满足如下关系: α+β=-b/a   α·β=c/a ,那么这两个数 α β 是方程 ax^2+bx+c=0 (a≠0 △=b^2-4ac>0) 的根。

8-4 Tommy:韦达定理的实用之处在于,它提供一个不用直接把根解出来的方法来计算根之间的关系。

8-4 Levi:韦达定理最重要的贡献是对代数学的推进,它最早系统地引入代数符号,推进了方程论的发展,用字母代替未知数,指出了根与系数之间的关系。韦达定理为数学中的一元方程的研究奠定了基础,对一元方程的应用创造和开拓了广泛的发展空间。

八年级英语组较为重视同学们的英语听、说、读、写多方面的全面发展。在平时大量阅读英语材料的 输入 之时,口语和写作的 输出 也必定不会缺席。这次英语学科活动就以 ESDP 海选为契机,锻炼了大家英语的写作和口语能力;同时自由主题的要求也彻底激发了同学们对英语演讲的好奇与尝试。大家都利用假期积极准备了这次的演讲,其中不乏有些很有趣的例子:有些同学向大家介绍了他们最为欣赏的篮球运动员的原因,除了球技的高超,他们永不放弃的精神品质也值得我们学习;另一位同学较为成熟,向大家谈论了永生的利与弊,最后告诉我们一定要珍惜生命;还有一位同学以生活为支点,介绍了自己的 宠物 蚊子,这个新奇的比喻也使大家在了解英语演讲的过程中感受到了其中的乐趣。

 

————物理————

 

国庆前,八年级的学生们学习了光学相关的知识,如光的传播,反射与色散,并在国庆假期中积极参与了光学摄影的活动。本次活动将物理与艺术融为一体,意在激发学生们对物理的兴趣。

假期中,同学们细心观察身边事物,拍摄出了一张张精彩的作品。有的是旅途中所见的风景,有的心灵手巧,自己制作光影道具,有的结合了家人朋友的身影。这次精彩物理学科活动非常成功。同学们不仅收获了知识,还锻炼了摄影能力。假期过后,年级里的展览墙上贴满了生动有趣,精彩纷呈的照片,吸引了许多老师与同学们前来参观。

8-3 Amy:这位同学通过手工剪纸制作出栩栩如生的蝴蝶形象,并运用手电筒的照射拍出了光影效果,如同蝶煽动着翅膀。这体现了光沿直线传播的原理。

这位同学拍摄了游玩景点中木塔在湖面上的倒影,画面和谐优美,富有情趣。这体现了光的反射原理。

8-3 Diana :光通过棱镜可以呈现出不同颜色,这位同学运用棱镜拍摄出了光的色散,画面清晰明了。

 

由此,我们可以自豪地回顾过去,这并不是虚无缥缈,我们受益良多。在这些活动中我们倾注了时间和精力,我们的创意和想法给了我们身心两方面的激励,它们永远不会消失。但是,我们仍需继续努力:八年级这场漫长的马拉松也才刚刚开始,我们所需要面对的挑战会越发变得困难而剧烈。如果过去所得的一切都是浮云,我们应该充满希望并乐观地着眼未来。最后,我们坚信,一切都是最好的安排。


 

Reflecting on the past, it's clear that the first quarter of the eighth grade has been both intellectually stimulating and eventful. Over the last two months, students engaged in a variety of challenging activities: they created informative posters on Vieta's Theorem, undertook a practical assignment to capture the principles of light through photography, and participated in the highly competitive school ESDP competition. Additionally, they delivered not one, but two, insightful presentations on the book “Red Star Over China” among other intriguing endeavors. It’s evident that these activities were not only engaging but also immensely rewarding. Now, let us revisit the events that have unfolded since the beginning of the eighth grade.

 

In Chinese class, news writing serves as a key educational tool, allowing students to understand and document the world. Often referred to as the "invisible fourth pillar," news complements the judiciary, administration, and legislature. The eighth-grade Chinese curriculum encourages students to write in various journalistic genres, from news reports and feature stories to news messages and commentaries. This work has sharpened their awareness of current events, like the recent Asian Games, and has honed their analytical skills. The creation of a "newspaper cutting" assignment, which involved students selecting and compiling newspaper articles, proved the depth of their engagement and understanding. Regardless of their future career paths, these journalistic exercises are invaluable for their societal awareness and logical structuring of information. The enthusiasm for future Chinese language curriculum activities is palpable.

 

In Mathematics, we dove into the world of algebra through Vieta's formulae, which beautifully links the roots of a polynomial to its coefficients. François Vieta, a French mathematician, was the pioneer who established these principles in his seminal work, "Identification and Correction of Equations." His 16th-century theories laid the groundwork for what is now a cornerstone concept in algebra.

 

The English committee has focused on nurturing well-rounded students proficient in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The ongoing ESDP event tested students’ abilities in speech and writing, while the liberal choice of topics sparked their enthusiasm. During the National Holiday, students prepared speeches on diverse subjects ranging from idolizing basketball players to the peculiar topic of “pet” mosquitoes, showcasing their originality and the success of the English curriculum.

 

In Physics, the Grade 8 students explored optics before the holiday, delving into light propagation, reflection, and dispersion. They then applied this knowledge creatively during the National Holiday's Physics & Art activity. Their astute observations and innovative creations, including DIY lighting props and shadow play with family and friends, led to a successful exhibition that captivated many.

 

It is with a sense of pride that we look back on these achievements. The eighth graders have invested their efforts wholeheartedly, and the outcomes have been immensely satisfying both intellectually and personally. However, we must recognize that our journey is just beginning. With three-quarters of the year ahead, we face even greater challenges. But if our past accomplishments are any indication, we can face the future with optimism. What lies ahead may be our greatest moments yet.
