小初衔接,家校共创未来

时值深冬,杭州湾双语学校五年级于12月20日首次举办家长沙龙,而主题也正是大家最为关切的小升初衔接。

在五年级年级组长李晶老师的介绍声中,本次家长沙龙正式开始。

 

 

在家长分享这个环节中,杭校去年的五年级学生 Cathy家长向大家分享了她的孩子在升入杭校小学初中部后的心路历程。

Cathy妈妈的分享中,她给家长们的最大建议是在小升初的关键时刻,要回想自己的教育初心。她提到自己和孩子的交流中,双方始终是平等的,而孩子也培养了良好的学习习惯,这对孩子升入杭校初中部后的学习也大有裨益。随后,Cathy妈妈也分享了自己平时和孩子的点滴相处,面对孩子的成长情况她顺势而为,最终让孩子拥有了优异的沟通能力,良好的学习能力和适应能力。这使得孩子在面对初中紧张有序的学习与生活时,也依然能从容应对。

 

Cathy妈妈的分享之后,李老师也提到五年级学生的独立性增强,在学习中更有效率,社交能力也在不断提升。同时她提到,杭校初中是高度兼容性的,在体制内和体制外的探索中,杭校也逐步走出了一条成熟的道路,让孩子能在升入高中后,保持良好的竞争性。

随后,数学教研组组长裴斐雯老师向大家介绍了杭校初中部数学的教学理念,她提到在小学和初中,学生需要具备不同的数学眼光、数学思维以及数学语言,而在杭校初中部,学生会以多种方式发展自己的数学能力,提升自身数学素质。

英语教研组组长张怿老师提到,在杭校初中部的英语学习中,学校也在不断助力学生英语的成长。通过分层教学的方式,教师得以因材施教,学生也用适合自身的方式不断成长。在初中英文学习中,不受限制的阅读是帮助学生不断提升英语素养的方式,不拘题材,不拘类型,各式英文内容都可以帮助学生提升英文文化素养。

 

在本次家长沙龙中,家长和教师充分交流彼此关切的问题,对升学衔接等问题也有了进一步的探讨。在沙龙中,家校以学生为中心,彼此合作,共同成长,对未来也有了更好的期许。

 

本学期,在金校长的大力倡导下,九年级、七年级、以及小学部的多场家长沙龙已经顺利召开,而在 12月下旬,其他年级的家长沙龙也将有条不紊地开展。家长沙龙作为杭州湾双语学校和家长沟通的重要渠道,相信定能助力杭校学子的全面成长!


 

On December 20th, the G5 Parents' Salon tackled parents' primary concern: the transition from primary to middle school.

 

First, Cathy's mom, whose G6 daughter thrives at HBBSS, shared her perspective on being a supportive companion. She emphasized staying true to original educational goals while cultivating an equal partnership with our children. By trusting her daughter's development, she witnessed the blossoming of excellent communication skills, strong learning abilities, and remarkable adaptability.

 

Ms. Li, the G5 leader, then highlighted impressive student progress this semester: increased independence, efficient academic learning, and improved social interaction. HBBSS has also charted a mature path towards integrated curriculums, ensuring our students remain competitive throughout their academic journey.

Ms. Pei, the math team leader, explained the middle school's distinct approach to mathematics. She emphasized the need for developing specific mathematical vision, thinking, and language compared to primary school. HBBSS offers diverse avenues for students to nurture their mathematical abilities and elevate their overall mathematical quality.

 

Ms. Zhang, the English team leader, shared the ongoing pursuit of English language advancement. Through differentiated learning, students progress at their own pace, aligned with their aptitudes. In reading, regardless of genre, our students are encouraged to explore widely and critically.

 

The Parents' Salon facilitated a valuable exchange of concerns and deepened the discussion around the transition. HBBSS teachers and parents, united by a student-centered approach, collaborate, learn together, and optimistically envision the future.

 

This semester, Principal Jin's initiative brought successful Parents' Salons to G9, G7, and several primary grades. In late December, other grades will follow suit. As a crucial communication channel between school and families, the Parents' Salon promises to nurture the all-around growth of our students.
