In this beautiful season of golden breezes and abundant hope, the campus is filled with laughter and joy, creating a melodious prelude to the new school year. The first graders, full of curiosity and anticipation for their primary school life, have stepped into this new world of knowledge and dreams. Meanwhile, the second, third, and fourth graders appear more confident and composed, their bright red scarves fluttering in the wind, warmly welcoming and eagerly anticipating the new academic year.

On September 2nd, Shanghai Jinshan Hangzhou Bay Bilingual School held a grand opening ceremony for the new school year. The ceremony, hosted by Director Gu , was attended by Principal Jin , Principal Yuan.

As the solemn national anthem played, the entire audience of teachers and students stood in silence, their eyes focused and hearts stirred with deep love for the country and hopes for the new semester. This moment not only marks the official start of the new academic year but also signifies another brilliant chapter in the children's journey of growth.

Principal Jin warmly welcomed the new first graders to the warm family of Hangzhou Bay and highly praised the second graders for their outstanding performance in academics and extracurricular activities. She encouraged everyone to carry forward the glory of the past and the hopes for the future, and to join hands in creating a brilliant new semester.

The expat teachers, with full enthusiasm, issued a call to action for all students, urging them to prepare well and embrace new challenges. The atmosphere was exceptionally lively, and the students responded eagerly, vowing to welcome the new semester with their best efforts.

Sukie, a student from Class 1-1, spoke on behalf of the new first graders at the opening ceremony. She expressed her excitement, as this ceremony marked a fresh start for all new students. The recent summer activities left a deep impression on her, from exploring science classes to team cooperation in sports events, all of which have made her look forward to school life with great anticipation. She believes that in the future, students will face new challenges, strive to learn, and cherish every opportunity for growth.

Alwyn from the second grade shared his summer experiences and expectations for the second grade. He participated in the Yellow Sea Wetland Ecology Project, learning about wetland ecosystems, species protection, and outdoor safety rules. During the project, he observed plants, caught insects, made specimens, and collected important data. Looking forward to the second grade, Alwyn hopes to improve his skills in math, reading, and writing, make new friends, and embrace more challenges. He is filled with anticipation for the new semester.

Chen Jun-shu from Class 3-5 shared his summer experiences. He and his teammates participated in the China Youth Ice Hockey League and won first place in the Shanghai division. Last week, they competed in the national competition held in Hangzhou and achieved second place. He felt that this summer was very meaningful and is looking forward to the new semester with great enthusiasm.

Emily Z from Class 4-4 focused on self-discipline during the summer, believing that self-discipline brings more freedom. She shared the importance of good study habits, such as listening attentively in class and reviewing and previewing lessons. During the summer, she had the opportunity to visit Tokyo, saw Mount Fuji, and attended a summer camp, which boosted her confidence. Emily also prepared thoroughly for the piano grading exam and continued reading. She is looking forward to the upcoming fourth grade with excitement.

At the end of the ceremony, the exciting award presentation took place. Amidst enthusiastic applause, students who received the "Ten Star" awards came up to receive their honors.
