HBBSS boasts of a team of Chinese and foreign teachers with extensive teaching experience and in-depth subject knowledge. It maintains a top quality, diverse teaching staff by recruiting the foreign teachers from the United States and the United Kingdom. Most teachers from China have a master's degree or above, or overseas university learning experience.

With rich experience in high-level national education, bilingual education, and international courses, HBBSS’s teachers are mainly from Hejia Education. They have outstanding experience in teaching practice, student guidance, parent-teacher communication, and teamwork, especially in integrating international curriculum.

The Shanghai Comparative Research Center for Basic Education and International Curriculum provides comprehensive instruction and support for teachers in our school. HBBSS guarantees high-quality education and teaching through continuous and efficient teacher training and teamwork.

HBBSS provides regular professional development opportunities for its faculty and staff. Orientation at the end of each summer before the start of the academic year allows teachers to collaborate and share ideas on curriculum and class activities. Additionally, HBBSS supports a mentor/mentee program in which an experienced teacher is matched with every entry-level teacher to provide guidance and instruction on a daily basis. Each semester the school sets up observation sessions in which a head teacher evaluates other teachers by observing their classes and providing written and oral feedback on the instruction. These evaluations help faculty members improve their teaching styles and reinforce good habits.
